Now more than ever, in today’s struggling economy, is this phrase (Let the Buyer Beware) accurate. Below is a warning about our customer’s bad experience with trying to purchase an accessible vehicle via the internet.
The customer’s condition has been declining. He can no longer get in and out of vehicles without assistance. He was looking for a wheelchair van that he could afford. He thought he had found the perfect vehicle on Craigslist. After contacting the seller, he was told that because of security reasons he chose not to business with buyers directly. He chose to go through a Third Party Company. The company’s name is E-Assistants. They had a web site…..www.e-assistants.org with lots of great reviews. It was only after the customer had lost $5200 did he discover that it was all an elaborate scam. As per the following post, it appears he wasn’t the only one.
E-assistants.org – Other for $6500.00 on 08/02/2011
Saw a boat on Craigslist for $6500.00. It was just what we were looking for. Answered the ad. set up a delivery date 8/9/11. Sent by wire the money to their bank. Received a confirmation and that’s the last we heard from them.

The customer stated that in his haste to buy an accessible vehicle he ignored the old saying, “If it looks too good to be true, it probably is”. That was the case this time.
